Stig

Stig came in for adoption in June 2006. We did have him out in two different homes but he didn't settle in either, so he has stayed with us ever since. He has a good life here, goes out for walks with everyone and gets on with all the dogs in the kennels. He even has his own special "room" which is carpeted and has a large couch and bed, we call it Room 104 Penthouse Suite! Because he was returned twice he will now stay with us here at Second Chance for the rest of his life.

Fred and Ginger

Then there is Fred & Ginger. These two old German Shepherds who were found abandoned at the Bank of Scotland near Asda in Kirkcaldy in December 2007. These two dogs are devoted to each other and again we will keep them here where they will be safe and receive any medication they may need, they are already on medication for their joints to ease the pain, and are doing well.

Update 27th September 2009: It is with heavy hearts that we have to tell everyone that our beloved Fred & Ginger have gone to the bridge. They were with us from 7th December 2007 until 15th September 2009.

You can see our tribute to this very special pair on the rainbrow bridge section of the website.

Alfie and Tara

This is Alfie and his best pal Tara having time out in the reception, both lovely dogs, Alfie is about 6 and was severely over weight but is looking much trimmer now. He is a very large Rottweiler and is quite strong on a lead most dogs he is ok with, if introduced properly. He is good with children don't know about cats.He like most Rotts is a people dog loves cuddles.

Tara we think could be anything between 6 -8 years old, she is such a sweet dog who has had a bad time recently. She was flung out of a car then rehomed by another kennel, but has come into our care now. She shares a home at the kennels with Alfie as she gets very stressed out being on her own. Tara is good with everyone and all the dogs here. don't know about cats !! Claire and Sam from Equi Pet vets were up and she has had a check up and had her 1st vac and been micro chipped.

Tara can be let off the lead on walks as she is very biddable and just wants to be near you.

Alfie and Tara are now staying with us, unless someone really really special comes alomg for both of them, as they need to stay together now they are like Mr & Mrs.We all love them here they get loads of walks and attention from all the volunteers, so here they will stay xx
