Hello Frank & Ena,

Apologies for not having been in touch sooner... time flies when you're having fun!

Well what can I say? Cody is a FAB-U-LOUS wee dog, he's fitted in so easily, it's like he was meant to be with us all along. One week after he came to live with us, I started letting him off the lead. Yes his recall is still a work in progress but with training and plenty of exercise, he's learning to trust me and the 2 of us are getting there :D I still use a harness and spare lead to trail behind him when he is off the lead, that way no one gets flustered when play-time is over!

Yesterday we went for a 2.5hr walk in the Formonthills and he never stopped, chased his ball all the way!

We also started Flyball training a few weeks back but with the snowy weather we've had, it hasn't been regular. Our trainer (Shian) thinks Cody will be ready to compete some time over the summer!! Scary biscuits.. we'd better work on that recall some more!

Although Cody isn't competing yet, Max is and last weekend we were away to Great Harwood (500 miles!) for Max's first competition! We had great fun, especially in the hotel room.. no nothing like that! :D Two humans and 5 dogs!! Cody was hilarious, jumping around from one bed to another.. people bed that is. He is quite the talker as well, just priceless :)

He now comes over for cuddles and is quite happy for me to lift him up on my lap when we're watching TV. He certainly has relaxed about being touched/handled. There was never any sign of aggression or fear about being handled, he just wasn't comfortable and usually kept out of reach. Nowadays if he's invited up on my bed, he can't resist a cuddle and a capper, cheeky :)

He is such a fast learner, he keeps me on my toes! I'm thinking about taking him to heelwork to music just to do something else to engage his mind; I think he'd be good at it.

I had him at the vet's today for his booster and he was ever so brave, not a squeak. Talking about vets, I am going to forward this email to Leanne at Inglis; I'm sure she'll be delighted to hear how well he is doing.

Anyway I'm sure you're dying to see some pictures of the lovely boy.. here they are

Hi it's me wee Bonnie, I was the siver coloured puppy who was adopted just after Christma. Alfie my brother is also featured on Happy Hounds. Look at me now how pretty am I. My mum adores me and this is me having a we chill out on the chair at the kenels Love Bonnie xx.

I brought my mum and dad back to visit the guys at Second Chance, I was adopted well it will be two years come July. Mum says I'm a lot hairierer than I was, and my hair's get every where but they don't mind as they love me and say I'm a really good boy. It was good to visit and I think everyone was pleased to see me too. Of course then it was " photo time " Ena meant to say !! this is when the ladies say oh wish I had my hair done ! but Ena said as she was getting a photo taken said to Gillian bet you wish you had, had your hair done !!!! oop's sorry Gillian your hair was lovely. This is " puppy 2 " back for a visit, what a change on a puppy. He is still worried by the washing machine and going in the car, but he doing really well and loves going out to the park to play with other dogs. Most of all his folks totally adore him. xx

Ginny & Andy and wee Mishka back for a visit, exactly 3 years to the day they first came to see her,(where does the time go !! ) we did a home visit and she went home the next day,and has such a wonderful home where she is just adored by her folks. She managed to get away without a wee pal yet again this time !! but one day there will be a wee dog here for her. Thanks for the donations and the lovely flowers folks, much appreciated. Ena xx

Well I have been very lucky I didn't do bed & breafast or even dinner or tea, I now have such a wonderful loving home. Love Penny xx

Maddy brought her folks for a visit, she looks amazing, mind you her dad said the first few months they had her, he wondered what have we done !! but they wouldn't part with her she has been worth the hard work they put into her.Just goes to show I always say what you put in, you usually get back ten fold. Thanks for sticking by her and making her the lovely gentle loving girl she is today xx

Marion & Brian brought the lovely Milly back for a visit today, she looks fab and is so so happy as is her mum and dad. It's so nice to see them all looking so happy. We were delighted to see them all as always xxx.

My name is Mylo I only came in this morning , but there was a special home waiting for a wee guy just like me. So this is me with my new wee friend Layla and my mum & dad, I'm sitting on my mum's knee. Usually the dogs do at least bed and breakfast but not me I've been very lucky. Love Mylo xx.

This an update on me, I was a bit of a handful when I went to my new home, but my family are working through this with me. I go to training classes and my dad is so pleased at how I have come on in so short a time, and as you can see I am very laid back love. Broc xx.

Just received this, from Gerry and his family this is "Our Moss / Jess who went to stay in the Highlands with another collie Joe and an older Lurcher and they all get on so very well. love the pics thank you xx

Look who came back for a visit Tess and Riley, Riley the Border Collie has fairly grown and Tess well she was more outgoing this time. It was lovely to see them with their family xx
