How wonderful it was to see Thor on Thursday, and we can't thank Margaret & Dave enough for travelling all the way from Roy Bridge to let us see Thor, who is looking amazing and has never forgotten us. This lad was originally found on a busy dual carriage way poor soul and was really scared of traffic well who could blame him ! but his folks have worked through everything and he is such a well behaved big lad who is loved by everyone.

Oh what a lovely surprise today wee Robbie the Yorkie brought his dad to visit, his dad says he has brought so much love and pleasure into his life, he just loves wee Robbie and it is reciprocated. His dad has a car which Robbie loves going for jaunts in and he also has an electric scooter and Robbie likes nothing better than joining his dad on it for a trip to the shops, bless.

Pixie your looking so good and obviosly and again found a mum & dad who love you to bits.

Hi Ena,

I'm lying in my bed in front of the open fire, exhausted and with my
tummy bursting. I can hardly keep my eyes open.

We went to Mugdock this afternoon. We walked the long circuit and
stopped for a drink at the visitors centre. I wasn't happy when mummy
got daddy a big scone with jam and clothed cream, because he ate it
all himself I just had to make do with a couple of Markies.

I loved the high moors where I ran, and ran, and ran, and ran until I
fell over. I ran circles around two Jack Russells until they gave up
chasing me. I also met my new boyfriend again. We first met along the
River Kelvin during the week. I think he's besotted by me. He says he
is a greyhound, but he's bigger than any greyhound I've ever seen.
He's very handsome.

How did the open day go?Lots of visitors?

Love,

Pixie.

Hello Ena ,

I was looking at some of the dogs that people bring back to see you , so I thought I would send you an email. I got one of your dogs a long long time ago , she was a cross border , who you named smiler and I changed it to Sheba. She was only 6 months old and you had rescued her from some junkies that used her as a football , you told me that if you had not taken her when you did , she would not be here today. The day I came to the kennels , she was quite nervous inside her kennel but when she was spoken to she would smile and rub against the bars. I took her home and have had her ever since. She is now 14 years old and still going for her walks . She has been a great dog ,thanks. I would love to send you a photo of her. Please tell me how I can do that.
Dawn
And here is the lovely girl herself isn't she looking good. Oh I just love when people from so long ago get in touch and either send pics or come along to the kennels, thanks Dawn.

Hi Ena

We hadn't been in touch for a while and I just though that you would like to know that Henry is as happy as can be and fit as a flea.

Hope you are well and that all is going well in the kennels.

Hi Ena,

Pixie is absolutely wonderful.

We had a play in the garden with her. Once she got hold of the tennis ball, she just ran circles around us. She's very inquisitive and has checked out every single corner in the house, garden and street.

She quickly found her favorite chair and toy (as you can see from the photos) and was sound asleep in her chair after her own dinner and, surprisingly, also throughout our dinner (roast chicken!).

She's been for two walks through the neighborhood. Has met and played with Hamish, one of the local Yorkies, and got very excited when she saw one of our local foxes.

She's asleep next to me on the settee, head hanging over my leg, at the moment.

Cheers,

Lynn and Marc

Dougal >>
Posted: 19th April 2009

My name is Dougal. I’ve been living with my Mum and Dad since they chose me from Second Chance about 9 years ago.

I was a bit of a naughty boy at first. Not long after I came to stay, I managed to demolish the vertical blinds in the living room (as well as a few other things) but I soon settled down and Mum & Dad have learned to pull the blinds back before they go out now!

Now I prefer the quiet life and gentle walks but when I’m in the mood I like to play with my “cousins” (both human and doggie) when they come to visit me.

Peter we have done her proud !!

This is Pixie getting ready to go home with her new family, she had been jumping all over the place and then decided to have a nice wee nap on her mum's knee. I had left her quilt that she came in with on the floor so we wouldn't forget it, no chance she lay on it till she was ready to go,no way was she going without it.

Harvey >>
Posted: 19th April 2009

Hi Ena,

A quick update on Harvey who has been struggling these last few weeks with very severe arthritis just about everywhere - all legs, neck and back. He is quite content now as he has been put on an extreme regime of painkillers. As you can see in the photo, he has also just got himself a set of wheels! He is quite content being pushed to the park like a Lord, and then he gets out and goes for a saunter before being chauffeured home again.

Ben and Blue are doing fine and happy now we can all go on long walks together again.

Linda

Aw bless , thanks Linda for looking after "our " boys x

Well this was a surprise visit today from Linda she brought Misty for a visit, Misty was adopted about 14 years ago before we started the kennels. She is looking absolutely fantastic, sadly she can also be seen with her brother Chip who has sadly gone to the Bridge. She missed Chip so much her mum took in another wee soul and she has given Misty a new lease of life, so much so her mum is on the lookout for an older quieter wee girl who needs a home. Linda your card is marked !!
