Since it opened in 1999, hundreds of dogs have passed through the kennels doors and have gone on to wonderful new homes and families. On this page you will see some of those lucky dogs in their forever homes, and hear how they've settled in and how they've enriched their new families' lives.

I wasn't at the kennels very long, not even long enough to get a chance on 'Homeless Hounds', before my new family found me. This is me with my new Mum and big sister below, don't we all look so happy! I'm so glad I now have my very own tummy ticklers!

This is Aimi with her "brother" and her new "dad", her mum is waiting to welcome her at home. Aimi is lucky the family who gave her to us for rehoming have been so concerned and hoped we would get a good home for her, well she is now going to live in the country, so we think we have found her the best home possible. Her new family are really really nice!

Hello Ena,

How nice it was to visit you last week. I thought you would like to see these pictures of me practising my football skills. Maybe I`ll get a late call up to help Hibs tomorrow!

I am going on my first family adventure soon, it`s called a holiday and I`ll get to play on sandy beaches and dip my paws in the sea , brrrr!

Love Mylo xx

p.s. Hugh says you are sneaky with your camera!

Well, thanks to the commitment of her mum & dad Sylvia & Sandy, she has come on leaps and bounds, although she still has some issues they are working through everything with her. This is her back for a visit on Sunday, can't thank them enough for taking Lucy into their home.

I have been at the kennels since December last year, thought I had cracked it with a new home once before, but their dog didn't like me. Well great news is I have found a brilliant new home where I will be the only pet!

My mum and dad sadly lost Murphy their Rottie boy last year. Only now do they feel ready to move on and take in another dog to share their life. How lucky am I that they "CHOSE" me. You know the saying though everything comes to he who waits patiently. The kennels will be a sad place tonight without me, but I do know they are really so happy I have found my "ain" folk. I will be going back for a holiday though, so they haven't seen the last of me!

Lots of Love,
Bear xx.

Hi folks, Bailey here! This is me with my new mum & dad and and my sisters and brother getting ready to go home.

Amanda & Chris (mum & dad) are so so nice and just love us all to bits, even after Ena told them I demolished a chair last night at the kennels, they just said so he's a puppy! Robbie the black one actually came from here and Tia she was due to come here but they took her first, and Morgan (sable girl) she was one of a litter of puppies that came here, again she didn't make the kennels, and me well I only arrived yesterday, and now I'm away, soooo very happy.

Bailey x.

Jean is one of our fosterers, and she was fostering one of the many litters of pups we had in over Christmas. But she just couldn't bear to part with one of wee pups, Lucy. So, here is Jean, our 'failed fosterer' with her new addition Lucy!!

Hello Ena,

Roscoe is doing really well on his lead, he sits at the kerb now before we cross, but we are taking it slowly though before we let him off the lead, we have had him running to us but you can see he would love to run off if he could get away with it.

As promised here are some pictures of our beautiful boy,

thanks

Emily

Just thought you'd like to see me and my big bro Guinness having fun in the snow yesterday.

I'm so happy I can get out and about now but my legs aren't long enough to keep up with Guinness yet. :O)

Hi Aunty Ena

I've got five minutes to spare before I go tearing about in the garden again so mum said I could send you an e-mail.

I'm having a great time here, the garden is HUGE and I can run around all day. I really like the white furry things in the field next door and tried to dig my way out of the garden to meet them. Dad has put wooden boards up round the bottom of the fence which has put an end to my digging, anyway the white furry things have moved on. Mum says it is usually big black and white things with horns that come into the field next - I'm looking forward to meeting them!

My mum and dad are really happy with me and can't believe their luck in getting me. Dad is training me to walk nicely on the lead and he likes to run around the garden playing chase with me. Mum likes to sit and pet me and tickle my tum. They say I am a very loving pooch. I am friendly with everyone and everything and play with grandad Gibson's wee sprocker called Polly.

I have loads of toys and my favourite is a monkey in a space suit and a penguin. I have a cosy bed downstairs which I sleep in at night after mum and dad have tucked me in.

I went to visit the vet the other week for my second jag. I was very good and my wee wound has healed so I don't need to wear the lampshade thing any more.

Thank you Aunty Ena for looking after me until I found my forever home, say hello to everyone from me. I'm off to put my pawws up for a while before dad and me go out for a romp around the countryside'

Lots of love

Barney Gibson Esq

P.S Hope you like the photos I've sent. The 1st one is of me outside my new house. The 2nd is of me at at the near-by beach. The 3rd is of me and my Mum, the couch got delivered the day before I arrived, good timing eh! The 4th is if me having a wee snooze, the 5th is me having fun in the snow in my garden and then there's me checking out the neighbours.

This is Lindsay back for a visit. Eddie the Collie (on the right in the first photo) is a Second Chance boy and this is him with his "brothers" Oscar & Foley (Oscar is the one giving his Mum a kiss in the 2nd photo!). How well behaved are they!!! Lindsay has put in many years work with her boys, contrary to popular belief collies DO NOT come ready trained!!!! If you look very closely you can see our puppy Buster who is trying to join in, we think he wants to go with Lindsay.
