Happy Hounds

Since it opened in 1999, hundreds of dogs have passed through the kennels doors and have gone on to wonderful new homes and families. On this page you will see some of those lucky dogs in their forever homes, and hear how they've settled in and how they've enriched their new families' lives.

Mirk at home. >> Posted: 20th May 2012 Another couple pics of Mirk boy. Just love them xx Update 25th May me and my dad xx Update 23rd May.I am being a really good boy for my dad, he says "I could not have asked anything more of Mirk, Ena he's a fab dog " Well mum (Ena) I've found my new home and it's great,my new dad has had me out for lots of walks,we have had lots of fun and I love my new dad and he loves me, just thought I would keep you informed. Frank and myself are so pleased you have found your forever home,there were so many lovely people offering you a home, I always say I need people to press the right buttons for our residents and your dad certainly did that and more.Your coat is looking lovely and fluffy has your dad had the brush out ? Ellie and her folks. >> Posted: 19th May 2012 Ellie came to visit today, she looks great and has been such a joy for her folks. Just to hear them speaking about her and what she gets up to now that she is in a home. We let Bronwyn out to play with her and they had great fun.It was so nice to them all. xx

Poppy, Susie & Co >> Posted: 16th May 2012 Thanks Lorraine / Jack how wonderful for these two wee girls, we never thought in a million years that someone would have taken these two wee souls and given them their forever home together with your two wee boys. We we will always be grateful to you both. xx In the conservatory Susie can't get up on the chair with the others and she couldn't get in and out easily. A neighbour gave us 2 big cushions that she had made for her dog. The orange one lets Susie go out and in as she likes now and the flowery one encourages the others to lie in the sun with her. When it is raining she uses the tartan one to go in and out as it doesn't soak through. This has given her so much more freedom. Yesterday for the first time, Poppy let Fergie join in her play fight with Susie and he was so gentle (for him anyway) Us x

A Border Collie 's dream home loads to do and now flyball fantastic bet he's great at it. They started a class about 30mins away. I think he is going to be amazing at it!! And he loved it !
Rocky and Friends >> Posted: 13th May 2012 Helen, Thank you s much for the update on Rocky, Ellie & Susie they look as though they are having such fun xx Hi Ena and all at Second Chance, I have attached some photos of Rocky. A friend took them when we were on a group walk at Tayport. Sadi is one of Rocky's new friends. They loved chasing a stick and trying to get it from each other. He is such a joy to know and makes Barry, the girls and I very happy. You have to smile when you see him run because you can see how much he is enjoying it. Bonnie & Biscuit >> Posted: 12th May 2012 More visitors Bonnie (was Bronwyn here) and Biscuit (who was Amy here ) with their mum. This is Bonnie giving mum a cuddle and then one of Biscuit. Biscuit had a really bad skin when she was adopted but look at her now !! Both dogs are looking well and it was nice to see them xx
Oliver & Gavin >> Posted: 12th May 2012 We had visitors in the shape of Oliver oh yes he brought his dad Gavin with him. Some of you may remember Oliver he is the wee lad that had gone through quite a lot and now gets fed through a tube in his side. His folks are devoted to him. It was great to see them and Oliver is looking fantastic.Great to see them both, mum was away having her hair done !! Monica saw Oliver on web site and wrote ! HOW WONDErful TO SEE THE WEE LAD LOOKING so well!!!!
Reece (Rex ) >> Posted: 11th May 2012 Reece was (Red) here about 9 years ago, he is lovely and you would never guess he was about 10 years old, and he is looking for a pal !! His folks just adore him. This is a pic when he was a puppy at the kennels ( had to get it down from the wall ) and then one with his mum now !!
Maxi >> Posted: 11th May 2012 I would like to thank everyone who came in or called offering me a home, I secured myself a lovely home today, but I would just not sit still to get a photo taken I was sooooo excited, the family are going to get one of me and my mum and send it in. Love Maxi xx

Mia update ! >> Posted: 8th May 2012 I don't want it but you sure as heck ain't getting it! Lady Mia will eventually eat the bonio if there is nothing else going. Yesterday she opened the front door and went out! Doors all locked now... Could not believe it. Thank goodness David came in and spotted open door and got her... Very lucky! She is one clever girl. Hi Marcia, Just as well you stay in the middle of nowhere eh!! don't think she will go far she is too well looked after xx
Snoopy and friend. >> Posted: 7th May 2012 We came to visit today, Ena wasn't here but Frank saw us and took our photo for Happy Hounds.We are both former Second Chance dogs,but have both found such a wonderful home with our new mum she already had my wee pal when she came and fell in love with me, sadly my " dad " had passed away.Still looking good although a bit grey around the face well we are both about 13 years old still like going for walks although we take a wee bit longer now. As you can see I am very happy love my folks and I LOVE my garden, I have great fun playing in it, but I do dig it up sometimes oops !! He is just so friendly and would never make a guard dog as he thinks everyone is only here to see him!!! We have been on long walks and to the beech and when we walked the coast road to Burntisland we caught the bus back .
