Happy Hounds

Since it opened in 1999, hundreds of dogs have passed through the kennels doors and have gone on to wonderful new homes and families. On this page you will see some of those lucky dogs in their forever homes, and hear how they've settled in and how they've enriched their new families' lives.

Isla >> Posted: 24th October 2011 This is our wee lass Isla ( Skye ) here she has another second chance boy Oscar ( he was Pepper here ) and they also have a wee blue roan boy. Buddy >> Posted: 24th October 2011 Elspeth & Buddy came to visit today, he was the wee noisy boy in the sextuplets. He is just a wee smasher gets on well with his big brother now although his Mum says he has longer legs than Max now. He is doing really well loves going for walks. Elspeth just adores dogs any dogs so I did introduce her to another wee lad who was handed in last night, but I must be losing my touch as she went away without him. Cloudy >> Posted: 22nd October 2011 Well I didn't have to stay long, this is me with my Mum who can't wait to take me home, and the grandchildren are really nice too I liked them when they came to visit me. So tonight I will be lying behind my mum on the chair having a cuddle as this is what I was used to doing. They had just been to my daughter Karen's Groom Room for a make over and they look great. Their Mum is absolutely besotted with them. Meg and Sam >> Posted: 18th October 2011 Meg our wee girl who was adopted a few weeks ago brought her family back for a visit, she is doing really well although Sam the Collie's nose was out of joint for about a week, wee soul. Till he thought looks like she is here to stay and just loves her now in fact looking for a video coming through of the two of them playing together. Larry & Wanda >> Posted: 16th October 2011 Frank and myself took time out today to go and visit the Oldies, some of you may remember Larry and Wanda, their owner died and they came to stay at Second Chance they were 14 & 16 years old so never for a minute did we think we would find a home for them. They had been with us for 11 months when we got a phone call last year in the week leading up to the New Year to say a family would like to come and see them ( these two were 15 & 17 then ) two sisters and their brother lovely people. Rest is history we took them to their new home on 31st December something we don't normally do. So I had to ask them if they were going to have any wild parties haha but no they weren't !! The dogs settled in a treat so much so last time we went to see them Wanda was happy to see us but Larry hid in the bedroom bless him ! There was no way he was coming with us. This is some pics of our visit today in their garden and one of Wanda with Frank in the place she loves best the settee. Last one is of the pair of them just making sure we leave without them. They look so well, love going out for walks, who would believe they are 16 & 18 in December. They are looking better now than when they left us as their coats are gleaming and Larry has put on some well needed weight. Yorkie Girls >> Posted: 16th October 2011 This is our two wee Yorkie girls, with their new mum / dad and brothers Fergus & Duncan who are 9 / 11 wee neutered boys.Mum is holding the girls. It was quite a wrench when they went away today, they have come on so well since they came in. Frank even went home to do the garden says he, I just think he didn't want to see them going away as they used to follow him everywhere. However, like their wee sister (who went out just about straight away) They have the most fantastic home where they will be so well loved by all, except maybe Duncan he is a wee bit stand offish with them but not in a bad way.Well wee ones the rest of your life starts here. Meg >> Posted: 13th October 2011 Meg with her new mum & dad, she also has grandparents and a brother & sister waiting for her to come home. It was love at first sight when they met Meg. Who by the way is an absolute poppet, loves everyone, I think she might just get a wee bit spoilt. Do you think her folks look happy ? Ps: This is the couple who came on a Sunday (we are closed !! ) let themselves in the gate says on the gate do not enter !!!!! Tam asked me if I did Kingdom FM on a Friday and I said yes I did, then he said yes, you have a face for the radio !!!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha. Kaiser >> Posted: 10th October 2011 1. kaisers favourite spot for a bit of sunbathing in the garden 2. having a rest after chasing some birds in the fields where we walk 3.kaiser sleeping with eva at night 4.his rain coat for the days when it's raining really heavy as he doesn't seem to like it much in the rain He has been on 2 holidays with us this year as we can't bear to put him in kennels and learned to swim in a river with the kids over the summer. He still has a babysitter if I have to go out for more than an hour too. He has settled in fantastically and cant imagine being without him!! Talk about bringing the house alive!!
